Make your home as unique as you are with this gear-shaped double-gang light switch cover that is made from 1/4 inch raw steel. Just flip the metal levers to turn your lights on and off! My design works very well with both Steampunk and Industrial home designs. It fits most toggle wall switches in the USA. Simply unscrew your existing switch plate cover, and screw this one in in its place. It is extremely easy to install!
My lever system has a bolt and nut design that allows you to adjust the amount of torque needed to flip the lights on and off. Your purchase comes with a small, matching wrench to help you adjust the bolts. It also comes with a steel spacer plate that ensures a tight seal against the wall and also prevents wobbling and unsightly gaps.
Base plate measures 4 ¾ inches tall by 4 ¼ inches wide. Levers extend 4 ¾ inches from the wall.
When installing, a good option is to turn your existing toggle switch upside down so that the up/down, on/off action of the levers is not reversed.
This design is only compatible with toggle switches (the kind you flick up and down with your finger). If you have a different type of switch, and you want to convert to the compatible toggle-style, let me know and I will include a 15A-120V toggle switch with your order at no extra charge.
I am no longer offering the rusted version of my light switch covers. However, I am still offering the rusted version on duplex outlet covers, rocker covers and blanks. If you prefer the rusted look, I am offering an "un-oiled" version of my light switch covers. Instead of oiling them with WD40 to prevent rusting, I clean them and then leave them un-oiled. You can then create your own rusting solution. I recommend 16oz hydrogen peroxide, 2oz white vinegar, and ½ tablespoon of salt. Mix this solution in a spray bottle, shake it up so that everything mixes well, and then spray your light switch cover. You will probably need to give it two coats and then let it sit for a couple of days so the rusting really sets in. Then, use clear matte spray paint to set the rust and keep it from transferring to your hands. Alternatively, you can purchase a sprayable rust patina from www.steelfxpatinas.com. Just spray your light switch cover and wait a few days. ***PLEASE INCLUDE A NOTE WITH YOUR ORDER IF YOU PREFER THE UN-OILED VERSION!***

Light switches should be oiled (I prefer to use WD40) at least once a year in order to prevent rusting.
My light switches with levers ONLY work with toggle switches (the kind you flick up and down with your finger). It's easy to change from a dimmer or other type of light switch to a toggle switch.
Any properly installed and functioning light switch has a safety ground. There should be no dangerous voltages anywhere near a properly functioning switch. The toggle switch itself is plastic, which is also an insulator. Whenever you are working with electricity, however, it’s always a good idea to turn off the breaker and double check your wires to make sure the insulation on your wiring is intact, and that the ground is connected to the switch. If the copper wire is exposed, or if the insulation is cut, you could get a shock due to faulty wiring.
Before installing, please ensure that your current light switches are functioning properly, that your switch is grounded, and that there are no loose wire connections.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Instructions were clear though it is a LOT easier to install with two people to help keep things aligned. Looks absolutely PHENOMINAL! Well constructed and designed. If you are hesitating, DON'T! Get it!! It's awesome!

The item is made of real steel. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality construction. I have it mounted on the light switch in the garage. Everyone who sees it, loves it.
