Blank wall plates make an easy solution for electrical outlets that are no longer in use. With no need for electricity in that particular part of the house, an outlet can be removed. But that leaves a large hole in the wall, which a blank wall plate can cover without the fuss of repatching and repainting. It screws simply and easily into the frame used by the outlet, covering the hole and preserving the wall's integrity.
Not only does it cut down on time and expense, but blank wall plates make further electrical work easier as well. Any time an electrician needs to add a new outlet or expand the home's wiring, he needs access to the space behind the wall. In some cases, that requires drilling a new hole to give him access. However, an existing hole covered by a blank wall plate makes an easy entry point and can be quickly replaced once the work is done.
This Blank Wall Plate matches the raw steel look of all of my other products. It fits a standard Double Gang switch plate, and it comes with a matching steel spacer plate to ensure a tight seal against the wall and to prevent wobbling.
It is 4.75 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide.
Choose either the plain steel or make it more exciting by choosing the variation with the gear!
Please note: all of the pictures are actually the same color. The blank wall plate is a dark grey/almost black raw steel color. The variations in color in the pictures are simply due to varying lighting conditions. Please allow 3-5 business days before items ship. Custom orders or very large orders may take longer.

Light switches should be oiled (I prefer to use WD40) at least once a year in order to prevent rusting.
My light switches with levers ONLY work with toggle switches (the kind you flick up and down with your finger). It's easy to change from a dimmer or other type of light switch to a toggle switch.
Any properly installed and functioning light switch has a safety ground. There should be no dangerous voltages anywhere near a properly functioning switch. The toggle switch itself is plastic, which is also an insulator. Whenever you are working with electricity, however, it’s always a good idea to turn off the breaker and double check your wires to make sure the insulation on your wiring is intact, and that the ground is connected to the switch. If the copper wire is exposed, or if the insulation is cut, you could get a shock due to faulty wiring.
Before installing, please ensure that your current light switches are functioning properly, that your switch is grounded, and that there are no loose wire connections.

I really love this blank wall plate. It's very heavy duty, and really nice-looking. It's hard to find blanks, and this one is perfect.

Love our box covers. Needed something rustic to hide old box holes in our log cabin. This did the trick and looks fabulous!

Beautiful addition to my bathroom to cover up that ugly white cover. Sturdy but not too heavy for it not to stay up. Love it! Well made!
